Your rent
From April 7, the average rent increase for 2008 will rise by £3.10 to
£66.99 a week. As promised in the offer document before the housing transfer Cross Keys Homes' rents will increase in line with a Government formula.
This formula uses the September
2007 rate of inflation of 3.9% plus adjustments for the number of bedrooms, the property value and average local incomes, to arrive at a 'target' rent for each property. Most of our rents are currently below target and we have to ensure that rents increase at a steady rate to hit target by 2012.
Below is a table which shows the average rent across Peterborough by the number of bedrooms and the percentage average increase.
| Bedrooms | Rent | Increase |
| bedsit | £51.62 | 4.98% |
| 1 | £58.88 | 5.32% |
| 2 | £69.34 | 4.70% |
| 3 | £73.25 | 4.62% |
| 4 | £76.53 | 4.55% |
| 5 | £76.92 | 3.99% |
| 6 | £88.29 | 3.94% |
The above table does not include increases to any extra charges you may pay such as Lifeline or for a caretaker service. All tenants should have received a personal rent increase statement in March.
