Kingfisher Court

‘It is not the building or the furniture that make Kingfisher Court. It's the kindness of those on reception, the patience of those who listen to my moans and groans, the smiles of the carers, not forgetting Colin and the restaurant (those lovely omelettes) that make this place a great place to live.’

Valerie, Kingfisher Court resident

Kingfisher Court is a stylish, high-quality extra care development with 79 apartments specially designed for the over 55s. Built with your needs in mind, it offers security, independence and a sense of community in your retirement.Kingfisher Court Logo

The one and two-bedroom apartments have their own front door and come with a fitted kitchen, bathroom and a spacious living area. So you can enjoy your own space or drop in to the communal lounge to meet up with friends and neighbours.

If you want to take a break from cooking, you can. Our on-site award-winning restaurant does breakfast, lunch and snacks and it's open seven days a week. For a spot of pampering, you can pop along to the hair and beauty salon and, if you enjoy being active, there's a health and fitness suite. Outside, you can take a stroll around the landscaped gardens or enjoy a drink on the restaurant terrace.

Before you move to Kingfisher Court, we'll create a care plan with you that will be tailored to your individual needs. We'll review the care plan regularly so that, as times goes on, we continue to give you the support you need.

What's around

Kingfisher Court is situated in the popular area of Stanground. There's lots of local facilities around such as shops, GP surgeries, dentists, a library and a choice of churches. It also has a range of community groups which offer social opportunities outside the scheme.

Stanground is about three miles from Peterborough City Centre and Kingfisher Court is served by a regular bus service. The area has all the local services you'd expect to find in an urban area yet it's right on the edge of The Fens. So you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside on your doorstep. Closer to home, you've got the Stanground Newt Ponds – a haven for endangered newt species – and Flag Fen Archaeology Park, which dates back to the Bronze age.

Why choose extra care?

You might feel you're struggling to cope with the home you're living in – perhaps it's getting too difficult for you to manage. At Kingfisher Court, we've created a place that's built around your individual needs. You'll still get all the privacy you want, without the worry of managing a large home or living on your own. We even offer a cleaning service, which is available at an extra cost. And it's up to you whether you use the on-site facilities or get involved in social activities.Lifeline control box

Most importantly, though, you'll have the reassurance of knowing that care staff are on hand 24 hours a day. And there's a LifeLine emergency alarm fitted in every apartment. Calls to this service are monitored by our own specialist control centre, which has over 25 years’ experience of running the service. We can also help with a range of other telecare products, such as fall detectors and bed monitors.
