We've launched a new e-learning platform

We are able to provide training and support to even more residents following the launch of our new e-learning platform.

As part of our comprehensive and far reaching community investment strategy, we have offered training and support in the community through our three community hubs in Peterborough. But our growth into new geographical areas has seen the company look for new ways to offer our services in these new areas. In addition, the effects of lockdown and the continued closure of our hubs has led to the search for a remote training solution.

‘CKH Learning’ launched on 13 January 2021, and utilises the well-respected Moodle platform to offer our tenants, and the wider community, the chance to learn new skills and receive support in the comfort of their own homes.

Initial courses will be offered to our tenants, helping them to maintain their homes. CKH’s Careers Club, providing people with information and skills to assist them into work will also be available, to all local residents, not just our tenants.

In addition, we will be moving our programme of self-improvement courses, funded by Peterborough City College’s Community Learning Trust, onto the e-learning platform. The first courses in this programme will include our ‘Feeling Stuck’ course, which helps people take the first steps back into learning, along with our volunteering course that give people the skills they need to get into volunteering.

Our Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “As a growing and expanding company we are always looking for new and innovative ways to offer our services to our increasing customer base. I hope that CKH Learning will be a fantastic asset for our customers, enabling us to offer our training to more and more people.

“With lockdown continuing we are unable to offer the in person support we know people need, but CKH Learning will help to fill the gap, helping people to get the skills they need to get into work or transform their lives. This is a really exciting time for us, and I am looking forward to hearing some great success stories from our e-learners!”
