Exciting handover of new affordable homes in Bourn, Cambridgeshire

Handover at Gill's Farm, Bourn

News story published 29 November 2017

We have taken delivery of our first affordable new homes in South Cambridgeshire.

Located on a former farmyard, 16 unique new homes have been built in the picturesque village of Bourn of which five have been developed as affordable rented homes, two for shared ownership and the rest for private sale.

Each of the new homes has been built by Hill, one of the UK’s top 20 housebuilders, and has been constructed using a range of sustainable materials enabling them to integrate seamlessly into the village.

Our Senior Development Manager, Azhar Ahmed, who took delivery of the new homes, said: “These are fantastic high-end, quality homes and we are delighted to be working in partnership with Hill on these first new affordable properties in South Cambridgeshire.

Azhar added: “We are committed to building new homes right across the Eastern region to help as many people as possible access a home they can realistically afford.”

Jon Thistlethwaite, Eastern Regional Director at Hill, added: “We are proud to be working with Cross Keys Homes to deliver much-needed affordable housing for Cambridgeshire. These high-quality new homes will offer affordable rents to five local families and the chance to take the first step on to the property ladder for two more.

“We have a strong track record of working with local authorities and housing associations across Cambridgeshire to deliver new homes and we look forward to partnering with even more organisations across the county to support local residents into housing.”

We are a proud member of PlaceShapers, who are collectively helping to build 88,000 new affordable homes across the country by 2022.
