We've started work to transform a former retail storage space on Bridge Street into a new business premises.
The shop and information hub will assist people looking to learn more about the care and support services CKH provide to Peterborough residents as well as upcoming training opportunities, new homes, and self-service options for existing residents.
CKH launched Cross Keys Care almost five years ago and in that time the service has gone from strength to strength. The organisation’s second extra-care development in Peterborough, Lapwing Apartments, opened last year and they currently have more than 13,600 LifeLine customers. LifeLine is a personal alarm service that connects individuals to Cross Keys Homes’ contact centre a 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Part of the former M&S store footprint, the city centre base will also be used for more in depth customer consultations and the team will be on hand six days a week to advise people on CKH’s housing and care services.
Claire Higgins, Chief Executive of Cross Keys Homes, said: “We provide homes and care services that support independence and improve lives. True independence is built around individuals, so it’s hugely important that we hold a visible place in the city centre that so many of our residents visit on a regular basis so that we can offer them a convenient accessible service.
“We want people to know who we are and where to find us so they can feel they can approach us easily. The support we provide isn’t just for older people and there are lots of different ways we can help.
“It’s our hope that by having a premises in the centre of Peterborough, we can reach more people.”
CKH Customer Central is expected to open in June following refurbishment.
