Our ground breaking Residents Board has won the TPAS Central area award for Tenant led Scrutiny.
Up against stiff competition from all Housing Associations in the region, our Residents Board ticked all the boxes for the judges and were victorious in securing the TPAS Central area award and our place in the national finals.
The Board, which celebrates, its first anniversary this month, was established by us to ensure that tenants are brought into the heart of the business, and to bridge the gap between traditional involved tenant groups and our Group Board.
Responsible for overseeing customer facing strategies and service standards, the Residents Board also oversees a budget of £10m. The Chair and Vice-Chair also sit on our Group Board.
The awards are presented by the Tenant Engagement Experts TPAS and highlight the best practice in tenant participation from Housing Associations across the country. Overcoming the tough competition, we will now join the winners from the north and south regions in the national final at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Warwickshire on Thursday 14 July.
Chair of the Residents Board, Rachel Blackmore, said: “Winning this award shows that CKH’s commitment to getting it right for tenants is really paying off. It was a huge honour to accept the award. I have sat on the Board since its inception, but only took over as Chair a month ago. It is testament to the commitment and hard work of my fellow board members and the commitment of CKH to the initiative that we have won this award after only one year.”
Chief Executive of CKH, Claire Higgins, added her congratulations to the board members: “Our Residents Board consists of a really diverse group of tenants and stakeholders, but they all have one thing in common – a passion for listening to our customers and making sure CKH delivers the services they need. This is a passion I share with them and so it is wonderful to have their hard work, and CKH’s commitment to involving our residents recognised by such a highly respected organisation as TPAS."
