We have been shortlisted in two categories in the most prestigious awards in the housing sector, having been named as finalists in the UK Housing Awards’ Outstanding Approach to Tenant Involvement and Development Programme of the Year categories.
The UK Housing Awards, are organised by Inside Housing magazine and the Chartered Institute of Housing, and celebrate the innovative, creative and passionate work of housing organisations across the country.
We are thrilled to have received the recognition for two very different facets of our company’s activities, highlighting the broad scope of the life changing work we are involved with.
The Outstanding Approach to Tenant Involvement award recognises the innovative ways we involve our customers in the running of our business, from our ground breaking Residents Board, to our Scrutiny Panel that now operates through Facebook, making it accessible to more people.
We are currently undertaking our largest development programme in our history, in a bid to help to relieve the housing crisis not only in Peterborough but across the wider region. On track to develop 2,000 more homes by 2021, we are building homes in a number of areas including Milton Keynes, Huntingdonshire, South Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire.
Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said “The UK Housing Awards are very highly regarded within the housing sector and so to be shortlisted for two awards makes me very proud of the whole CKH team, who all played their part in getting us to this stage. Being shortlisted for these awards hopefully reflects our customer focused approach to creating life changing opportunities and also our determination to build as many affordable homes for people as possible.
“They also highlight our approach to putting residents at the heart of our business, which we have done with our sector leading Residents Board.
“To be finalists in the Development Programme of the Year category shows our approach to building is really working. By developing excellent relationships with local authorities and developers we are really making a difference to the supply of affordable housing in the region, both for rent and for shared ownership. Our innovative Joint Ventures, with Kier and Peterborough City Council, also demonstrate that we are constantly looking for new ways to deliver additional homes and build communities, whilst also delivering the very best value for money.”
