Westwood was buzzing with community spirit thanks to WestRaven Big Local, as the grand opening of WestRaven Community Cafe attracted many local people to celebrate the new community cafe.
In celebration of the cafe's opening, WestRaven Big Local held a community fun day on Easter Monday serving afternoon tea and holding an Easter egg hunt, as well as activities for children. There were also stalls, craft activities and live music throughout the day.
Jean Ayres, 89, who is a member on the WestRaven Big Local Board was recognised for her ongoing support to the local area, and had the privilege of declaring the cafe officially open alongside chair of the WestRaven Big Local Board, Cath Roberston.
The cafe will serve affordable food and drinks, as well as include a designated youth space with recording equipment, a wheelchair friendly training kitchen, and a community space offering a range of activities and workshops for the whole community.
The cafe will be open Monday - Friday 8am - 3:30pm. Come along for fresh, affordable meals and please do help us spread the word!
