Sheltered housing

Our purpose-built sheltered schemes give you the freedom to enjoy life and do the things you love, with the reassurance of knowing that 24-hour support is available.

Each sheltered home is private and self-contained so you can be as independent as you like. And with someone around to support you if you’re ill or to arrange help with your shopping or cleaning, you get the best of both worlds.

We've got 27 schemes across Peterborough and there's a mix of bungalows and apartments to choose from. Find out more about the schemes and where they're located.

Stay active

If you move to one of our schemes, you’ll never be short of things to do. You can take part in organised social activities and trips, meet new people or even start a new hobby. And you can still carry on doing all the things you enjoy now with your friends and relatives.

Get 24-hour support

Each home is linked to the LifeLine emergency alarm service. So if you have a fall or become ill, you can contact someone straight away, 24 hours a day. They'll get in touch with your family or call the emergency services if you need urgent care. What's more, a Scheme Manager will be on hand to keep an eye on you and arrange any day-to-day support you might need.

Can I move into sheltered housing?

You'll need to be 55 or over and either have a need for housing-related support or show that you would benefit from living in a sheltered community. If you're aged 50-54, you might be able to apply if you have a disability or if your partner is 55 or over and is moving with you.

The application process for our sheltered housing is managed by Peterborough City Council, and to apply you will need to register with them. You can find all the information on how to do so on the Peterborough City Council housing website.  You can also call into the Council offices in Bayard Place for an application form.
