TWIP are a passionate group of organisations from across Peterborough working in partnership to address the issues of unemployment in the city and support people to get work ready, into work and to upskill those already in work to improve their career prospects.

TWIP members

Care Zone

Care Zone logo Care Zone is an innovative workshop and furniture recycling project that provides good quality furniture donated by the public to individuals and families in crisis, as well as providing showers, clothing and household furnishings.

Care Zone also wants to break the cycle of long term unemployment by offering practical skills training and volunteering placements to anyone who is unemployed and wants to get back into work whilst making a positive difference in their local community. They offer a range of practical skills training such as learning how to refurbish furniture, painting and working in warehousing.

Citizens Advice Peterborough

Citizens Advice Peterborough Logo Citizens Advice Peterborough is a local charity that aims to provide the highest quality advice and information services to residents of Peterborough as well as campaigning for social change for the good of their clients.

They offer advice in key areas including debt, benefits, housing, homelessness, relationships and employment and can give specific advice on how working will impact on any benefits that you receive.

They also offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities, that have been used as a pathway to work both within and out of the charity sector by a number of their previous volunteers.

Cross Keys Homes

New Horizons

BBO grantholder logo The New Horizons project moves people closer to the job market by using coaching techniques to help them feel more confident and in control of their money, helping them get online and working with them to develop the tools needed to be able to look for work. It is part of the Building Better Opportunities programme, and funded by the European Social Fund and the National Lottery, through the Big Lottery Fund.

CHS group are the lead organisation for the project. In Peterborough our New Horizons coaches are based at Axiom Academy, part of the Longhurst Group and Cross Keys Homes.

TCHC

TCHC Group logo TCHC offers a holistic service to organisations and individuals including workforce development and support for those furthest away from employment. TCHC deliver under various government and Big Lottery Fund training projects. Currently it includes support for employees, jobseekers, those affected by redundancy and employment support for young people.

The Building Better opportunities - Community Connections projects offer opportunities which support individuals with their own development needs, as well as supporting with self-esteem and building confidence.

Work and Health Programme

Work and Health Programme: The Papworth Trust work on behalf of Shaw Trust in the Peterborough area delivering the Work and Health programme - a government funded service designed to help people with disabilities or health conditions and those unemployed for more than a year to find a job.
