"The support provided through the Orton work club has been fantastic. Rob, who runs the work club, made me think of new ideas and also made time to help me with my pre-interview. I now have a job working for East Anglia Ambulance Service." Mark, a Cross Keys Homes tenant.
Here are some of the things we can offer you:
- dedicated support for young people
- information, advice and guidance sessions
- work clubs
- training opportunities and qualifications
- life skills
- help setting up your own business
- job search facilities.
Learn my Way
Do you struggle to use a computer? We can help you improve your IT skills to help you get the job you want. We run the Learn my Way course twice a week at venues across the city.
The course lasts up to eight weeks but can be completed sooner. It will show you how to:
- use a computer
- stay safe online
- create a professional CV
- search for jobs and apply online
- shop, bank and communicate online.
To book a course, ring us on: 01733 396404 or email us.
As part of our commitment to helping young people into work, in 2012 we launched a pre-apprenticeship programme. Participants spend six months with us doing paid work experience and get help with CVs, application forms and job interviews.
To date, more than 90 young people have completed the programme. At least half of them have moved into employment, education or training.
