We have been re-accredited by leading domestic abuse alliance

We have demonstrated our continuing commitment to supporting the survivors of domestic abuse by being reaccredited by the prestigious Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA).

We work with local partners in all the areas in which we operate to secure the best outcomes for our residents affected by all types of abuse. As a housing provider, we are in a unique position to both identify abuse proactively and support survivors to seek safety, advice and practical help.

DAHA, a partnership whose mission it is to improve the housing sector's response to domestic abuse, have re-awarded us the accreditation, at their Gold standard, following an in-depth, rigorous assessment process. The assessment team found we have demonstrated passion, dedication and commitment to adopting and embedding the standards of the DAHA framework.

The assessors were particularly impressed by the excellent partnership working with other agencies, the trauma informed and tailored approach we take to the unique needs of each individual survivor as well as the way that managed house moves are implemented to ensure safety. Staff actively listen to what resident survivors want and go over and above requirements many times to meet these needs, demonstrating flexibility and humility in reflecting on what could be done better and implementing feedback.

Our Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said of the accreditation: “I am incredibly proud of CKH and the team in achieving the reaccreditation with DAHA. Domestic abuse is sadly a very real problem for many people and has a knock-on effect across our communities. At CKH I am determined to ensure that any of our residents who reach out to us for help will be believed, listened to and supported in whatever they need to reach safety and start to rebuild their lives. Our partnership working with other agencies, ensures an all-round support service for people in incredibly frightening and stressful situations. Our goal always is to take survivors out of these horrible situations and helping them back to happy and safe lives.”

Sharon Crosby, Senior National Domestic Abuse Housing Alliance (DAHA) Regional Lead, East Anglia, said: “Since first achieving DAHA accreditation in 2022, CKH has continued to improve their response to domestic abuse, taking on board recommendations, embedding DAHA's principles, building even better relationships within the strong network of co-ordinated community response that they are intrinsic to in Cambridgeshire. We are therefore delighted to announce they have passed their second full assessment 3 years later, meeting enhanced standards from last time, and are now reaccredited.

“It is clear that the commitment of CKH to ensuring those experiencing domestic abuse receive a believing, non-judgemental, survivor led and trauma-informed response is embedded throughout the organisation. Congratulations Cross Keys Homes, and we look forward to continuing our alliance in 2026!”
