Winter gardening
Did you know that in the UK it is illegal to intentionally destroy, damage or remove bird nests from your garden or public spaces?
Bird nesting season runs from March until September. That means you should not complete any garden maintenance work to trees, shrubs and bushes where birds may be nesting over the summer.
If you're planning on cutting back in the garden, make a date in February to spend a day outdoors tidying up. Not only will it help you avoid disturbing the birds, but it is also often better for trees to cut them back during the cold weather!
