Hundreds of affordable homes coming to Littleport

CKH is delighted to be playing its part in delivering more than 650 much-needed homes in a Cambridgeshire village.

The new development named Littleport Developments is being developed by Evera Homes –  a joint venture in which we are joint partners with Hyde, Longhurt Group and Flagship Group – and Vistry, another provider of market and affordable housing.

The 680 homes are to be built on a 70-acre field at Grange Lane in Littleport and will be made up of a mix of flats, bungalows and two, three and four-bedroom homes. A new community centre with a sprung floor for indoor sports is also planned.

Launched in 2018, Evera is an innovative partnership committed to tackling the acute housing shortage across the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough combined authority area by by delivering more homes, at greater pace.

Rob Griffiths, chair of the Evera Homes executive committee, said: “It’s important that we continue to deliver high quality homes and develop communities.

“We see first-hand how vitally important they are to people’s everyday wellbeing, and in our current climate, sustainable communities are more important than ever.

“Acquiring the land at Littleport is a great opportunity for Evera and is testament to the relationships we’ve built with authorities and local landowners, and I’m very much looking forward to working with the Vistry team on this one.”

Contracts were exchanged with the landowners in January 2021 and completion is due in February 2021. Construction is due to commence by the end of 2021 with the first homes available for occupation in late 2022.

It’s planned that around 40 percent of the total number of homes built across the development will be affordable housing tenures.
