New apprenticeship programme
We have launched a brand new programme of housing apprenticeships.
As part of our commitment to support people into work the eighteen-month programme will give participants the opportunity to gain tangible, paid work experience and open the door to a long-term career in a sector that changes lives.
The apprentice programme is a paid placement ideal for college or university leavers or people changing careers into a meaningful new direction. The apprentices will benefit from supportive management, mentoring and paid study time, to enable them to obtain the Chartered Institute of Housing's Level 3 Certificate in Housing Practice.
The role will be hands-on from the start, supporting residents, getting involved in real casework and learning from the experienced, professional colleagues they will work alongside. All the apprentices will grow in confidence, knowledge and skills and end the programme ready for a rewarding career in housing. Many of our previous apprentices have gone on to stay with the company in roles such as Neighbourhood Manager, Scheme Manager in retirement housing or as Income Advisors for many years post apprenticeship.
Claire Higgins, our Chief Executive, said: “At CKH we are passionate about getting people into work to support our communities and help their confidence and skills. We know so many job adverts require qualifications or experience just to get a foot in the door, and so I'm delighted that we are able to open that door a little wider to those who are new to the world of work or are looking for a change of direction. Our whole team are on hand to support these apprentices every step of the way, and we truly hope that in time they will join the large number of previous apprentices who have gone on to become valued members of the CKH team in permanent positions with us.”
Applications are now open to anyone looking to make a difference and build a career they can be proud of. You just need to be a good communicator with a passion to learn and a thirst for new challenges.
