We've signed the Age-friendly Pledge

We have signed the Age-friendly Employer Pledge, a nationwide programme run by the Centre for Ageing Better.

By signing the pledge we have demonstrated a commitment to improve recruitment, retention and development of workers aged 50 and over. This means older workers can continue to thrive and contribute to our success, and it means we will benefit from the innovation and productivity boost that multigenerational workforces bring.

Claire Higgins, our Chief Executive said of the pledge: “Forty percent of our employees are aged over 50, and we value the contribution made by every single one of them. Their knowledge, skills and experience help CKH to do the life changing work we are committed to. By having a vibrant, multigenerational workforce we, and our residents, benefit from the wide range of skills and ideas everyone brings to the business.”

The Age-friendly Employment Pledge is just one of the commitments we have made to the diversity of our workforce. We are also proud to be a Living Wage and Disability Confident employer, as well a signatory to Harry’s Pledge, supporting carers in the workplace, and a holder of the Silver award from the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS).
