Forty new affordable homes provided in Donington

Together with our development partner Seagate Homes, we have built forty new affordable homes in Donington thanks to grant funding of over £2.4million from Homes England.

The development known as The Maltings has provided 21 social rented homes and 19 shared ownership properties consisting of a mixture of one bedroom apartments, 2-bedroom bungalows and 2, 3 and 4 bedroom houses, and is a key part of Cross Keys Homes (CKH) expansion plans.

To celebrate the completion of this site, residents David and Tracey Love who recently moved into one of the new 2-bedroom shared ownership homes had a bouquet of flowers and box of chocolates presented to them by CKH’s Sales Executive, Anj Dawson and Seagate Homes’ Managing Director, Adam Murfet and Technical Director, Lee Russell.

Tracey said, “We never thought we would be able to purchase a property being in our 60s, but when we looked around the 2-bedroom show home at Donington and into how shared ownership works, we knew it was the perfect way forward for us.

“The whole journey into buying our shared ownership home ran smoothly and quickly from start to finish. We are delighted with our new home and are ever so grateful to Cross Keys Homes for making this possible for us.”

CKH’s Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, added: “We are committed to building as many new affordable homes as we possibly can in the eastern region to help provide the much-needed local housing provision that is required.

“We are delighted to have developed these new homes in Donington and are looking forward to building a further 32 new homes as we begin phase 2 of our development works with Seagate Homes.”

Claire added: “We hope that David and Tracey, and all those who move into these new homes in Donington will be truly happy living there.”

Adam Murfet, Managing Director from Seagate Homes, added: “We are delighted to have been involved in the construction of this development in collaboration with Cross Keys Homes. At Seagate Homes we are committed to delivering high quality homes, and we hope that David and Tracey enjoy their new home and feel welcomed as part of the growing community.”
