Hi, it's Karen Chambers here, CKH's Resident Involvement Manager, and I’d like to tell you more about our Scrutiny Panel, and how you can join and make a difference. We are recruiting passionate and inquisitive minds to scrutinise our policies and services to make sure we get it right for residents. So, if you have a critical mind and a desire to make a difference, come and get involved!

Our Scrutiny Panel are our critical friends. They are completely independent of the organisation, and look through our policies and services in detail to make sure we are taking into account all our customers needs. They are your voice at the heart of our business.

And we need more people to join the Panel, to make sure we get it right for everyone. Recently, the Panel have looked at the problems of fly-tipping in our community, and on their recommendation we put in place a bulky waste collection for residents, as well as an education programme for schools, to ensure responsible waste disposal and recycling is embedded in the next generation.

Most recently they looked at our planned works policy, to make sure we are communicating effectively with residents about when major refurbishment and renewal works are due on their homes, as well as ensuring satisfaction with the works carried out.

The Panel are now looking at how we communicate with potentially vulnerable residents, especially those who might be digitally excluded, and they will be delving deep into what we are doing, as well as speaking to residents to see how they feel and looking at what other organisations have done.
