Our Westwood Community Hub has re-opened with a new look, and new facilities, following a full refurbishment.

The Hub, located in the Hampton Court shopping parade, has been extended to provide a brand new training suite and meeting room, as well as giving the IT training suite and reception a fresh new look.

Located in one of Peterborough’s most deprived wards, the Hub is a vital resource for the community, providing a venue for training and support services, focusing on employability and IT skills. The Hub is also a resource used by many local support organisations.

Our own Careers Club will be resuming face-to-face support with a careers adviser, in small numbers, from Friday 23 October. The Club offers personalised support for those seeking work, including writing CVs, identifying job opportunities and interview skills. People wishing to join the Club should contact 01733 396404.

The Hub has strict covid-secure protocols in place, including a one way system and a restrictions on the number of people able to use the IT equipment and rooms at any one time. A booking system is in place and people wishing to use the computers are urged to contact the hub to book a slot. The wearing of face coverings is also required within the Hub.

Our Chief Executive, Claire Higgins, said: “We know how valuable this Hub is for local people, and it has been greatly missed during the lockdown closure. However, we put this time to good use and we are now able to open an even bigger and better Hub. We will be working with our partners to ensure we are offering the support people need in these difficult times and we welcome contact from any organisations who would like to work with us to expand the support on offer to give people the skills they need to succeed in a competitive jobs market.”
